Moss of the Forest

While hiking in the woods near Courtenay, I came across a heavily moss-draped section near a river. The scene had some great compositional elements when viewed from the right angle, so I set up to have the log slice across the frame diagonally. THe soft, diffuse light of the rainy day, combined with a polarizing filter, brought out some beautiful green colours, and I was very happy with the result!
